Scope
Unasys were contracted to mechanically complete a new polyethylene plant. We were engaged to provide and manage the electronic management system, having established the system definition, via system and sub-system analysis of design P&IDs. Unasys also prepared the basis for project execution, utilising in-house procedures and test sheets adapted for this specific project.
Background
Recommended to SABIC, they sought to implement a dedicated team and application to maintain control of construction, testing, MC & commissioning.
Challenges
Entering a project at a late stage complicates project delivery and swift implementation of corrective actions was required
In order to fulfil the client brief it was necessary to gain a quick understanding of the issues specific to this project, define and prepare a suitable schedule for completion which would include all passive as well as process systems
Unasys Approach
A dedicated team of specialists would liaise with all sub-contractors and vendors to facilitate co-ordinated completion
The benefits of the e-PM system together with the methodical controls and reporting systems were to be transferred to the client in completing the precommissioning scope of work
Achievements
Intervention was pivotal in delivering successful completion
Some specialist staff retained post completion date
